My Journey Learning Spin Bowling 🌀
Three months ago, my coach spotted something in my bowling action that I never knew I had — a natural wrist position perfect for leg spin bowling!
I had always considered myself a batter first. But now I'm training seriously as a spin bowling all-rounder, just like Abhishek Sharma!
- •My practice routine:
- •6:00 AM: 30 minutes of wrist exercises
- •Evening: 100 balls on the mat
- •Weekend: Full practice session at the academy
Deliveries I'm learning: 1. Leg break — My main weapon. Getting good spin now! 2. Top spinner — Confuses batters into playing early 3. Googly — Still a mystery 🤔 but working on it 4. Flipper — Coach says this comes with years of practice
Best moment so far: Taking 2 wickets in a practice match with my leg break. Both batters were completely bamboozled! The look on their faces was priceless 😄
Spin bowling requires patience, practice, and a very strong wrist. It's hard but so rewarding when it works.
My goal: 5 wickets in a school match this season. Watch this space! 👀
